An army contingent comprising of Russian special forces arrived in Pakistan to participate in two-week long joint military drills named DRUZHBA 5.
“Federation Special Forces’ contingent arrived in Pakistan for 2 weeks long joint exercise DRUZHBA 5,” said Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.
The exercise is aimed at sharing both armies’ experiences in counter terrorism domain, the statement added.
Meanwhile, Sky diving and hostage rescue operations will be highlights of exercise.
DRUZHBA Military Exercise
DRUZHBA Military Exercise were first held between armies of Pakistan and Russia back in 2016. The joint military exercise focuses on enhancing interoperability between the armed forces of two countries, and improving mutual military and security cooperation between Pakistan and Russia.
A total of four DRUZHBA military exercises have been held in the past since 2016, with the current one being the 5th joint military drills between Russia and Pakistan.
Last year, DRUZHBA 2019 joint military exercise between Pakistan and Russia was held in southern Russian city of Krasndar.
