Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has approved the import and local manufacturing of Remdesivir, a drug used to treat coronavirus patients.
Ministry of National Health Services, in wake of the increasing demand for the drug due to continuous exponential surge in COVID-19 cases, has approved the import and local manufacturing of Remdesivir drug.
As per the initial details, import permits have been issued to two importers, whereas 14 local manufacturers have been allowed to manufacture the drug in Pakistan.

Prior to this, Dr Zafar Mirza – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Health, on Saturday, had reaffirmed that the country had sufficient stock of Dexamethasone, a drug used in the treatment of COVI-19 patients.
