Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar has termed India as the single most significant threat to Afghan Peace Process as the frustrated New Delhi is trying to sabotage regional peace and stability.
Speaking to a private media outlet on Saturday (today) DGISPR Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar termed India as the biggest ‘spoiler’ for regional peace and stability, especially Afghan Peace Process.
The military spokesperson accentuated the threat posed by sleeper cells which might get active and try to destabilize Pakistan in wake of recent developments in Afghanistan.
Pakistan Army is keeping a close eye on the situation. Security forces more than 7,000 IBOs and cordon and search operations, whereas 67 terror incidents had taken place since May 1st.
Addressing the issue of border control, DG ISPR Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar apprised that regular Pakistan Army troops have been deployed along Pak-Afghan border and all illegal crossing points have been sealed.
Pakistan has been building a border fence along its porous border with Afghanistan of which 90% has been completed and the remaining fencing would be completed shortly, and additionally modern biometric system has been installed at the border, noted DG ISPR.

Expressing his views on recent claims made by Afghan Vice President Amrullah Saleh accusing Pakistan Air Force (PAF) of threatening Afghan Army and Afghan Air Force of retaliation in case of any airstrike against Afghan Taliban in Spin Boldar area along Pak-Afghan border.
Lamenting on Afghan situation, DG ISPR remarked that Pakistan has spared no effort for the peace process, and Pakistan is not a ‘guarantor’.
It is up to the Afghans to decide how to proceed forward, he concluded.
