Pakistan has reassured China of foolproof security for Chinese nationals working on various projects in Pakistan.
As per details, Federal Interior Minister – Sheikh Rashid Ahmed held a telephonic conversation with China’s Minister of Public Security – Zhao Kezhi on Saturday (today). During the telephonic conversation, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed reaffirmed the Chinese official of foolproof security for Chinese nationals working in Pakistan.
China’s Minister of Public Security – Zhao Kezhi underlined that he was called upon Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on the directions of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Exchanging views on the progress made into the investigation so far and agreed to complete it as soon as possible, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed informed the Chinese minister that Dasu bus incident is being investigated at highest possible level on the directives of PM Imran Khan.
Sheikh Rashid Ahmed also reassured that Chinese investigative team is being facilitated in the investigation.
An investigating team of Chinese security officials will visit Dasu today as part of a joint probe into the incident to ascertain the facts. The Chinese team will also be briefed by Pakistani officials with regard to the bus incident.
Prior to this, PM Imran Khan had also extended condolences, reassuring of thorough investigation into Dasu bus incident over a telephonic conversation with his Chinese counterpart – Li Keqiang on Thursday a day earlier.
It is pertinent to know that 12 people including Chinese engineers and FC personnel are said to have been killed in n an ‘attack’ near the Dasu hydropower plant in the Upper Kohistan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday earlier this week.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting – Fawad Chaudhry had earlier said that “terrorism cannot be ruled out” in the Dasu accident.
The federal minister confirmed that initial investigation confirms the traces of explosives and that terrorism cannot be ruled out.
