Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi along with Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan – Nong Rong visited Dasu bus incident wounded at CMH Rawalpindi, reported ISPR on Sunday a day earlier.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), FM Qureshi and Chinese Envoy Nong Rong inquired about wellbeing of Chinese Nationals injured in Dassu incident and wished them speedy recovery.
Upon arrival, the dignitaries were briefed on medical care being provided to injured by Major General Muhammad Aleem – Commandant CMH.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi reassured the injured Chinese Nationals for all out support and medical care. Ambassador Nong Rong said that China & Pakistan will continue to cooperate more closely to face any challenges together.
It is pertinent to know that 13 people – including 9 Chinese nationals, two personnel of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) and two locals – were killed and 28 others sustained injuries when a coach carrying them to an under-construction tunnel site of the 4,300-megawatt Dasu hydropower project fell into a ravine in the Upper Kohistan area after an explosion on Wednesday last week.
Following the incident, PM Imran Khan had held a telephonic conversation with his Chinese counterpart – Li Keqiang over the matter.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed had held a telephonic conversation with China’s Minister of Public Security – Zhao Kezhi to exchange views over Dasu bus incident which claimed the lives of nine Chinese nationals.
