Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) killed one terror suspect and apprehended another five in a raid in Karachi on Monday (today).
As per details, CTD raided a building in Karachi’s Shah Latif Town in intelligence tip-off regarding presence of wanted terrorists.
Raja Umar Khattab – incharge CTD apprised that the militants had parked an explosive laden riskhaw in front of the concerned building and were preparing of a major terrorist attack in the city.
One terrorist was killed, whereas five other have been apprehended in the firefight with CTD.
Initial investigation has revealed that terrorists were planning to target Sindh Assembly Building with the explosive laden vehicle.
CTD has recovered four suicide jackets, 15 grenades, four Kalashnikovs, hundreds of round of ammunition, and two rockets from the militants.
The development comes as earlier, National Counter-Terrorism Authority (NACTA) had warned of a ‘major terrorist attack’ in Karachi.
NACTA had warned that terrorists were planning a VBIED in Karachi targeting any high value building in the metropolis.
