Pakistan Navy (PN) on Monday, awarded Honorary Lieutenant rank to Pakistan Cricket Team member Fakhar Zaman for his services to the nation.
“To honor achievements in cricket and association with Pakistan Navy, CNS Adm Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi conferred renowned cricketer Fakhar Zaman rank of Honorary Lieutenant,” said the statement issued by Director General Public Relations (DGPR) Pakistan Navy.
Addressing a special epaulette award ceremony at Naval Headquarters (NHQ) Islamabad, Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi congratulated Fakhar Zaman and accentuated that Pakistan Navy has produced innumerable sport icons who have earned laurels for Pakistan.
He also reassured PN’s continued support for sports at both national and international levels.
In addition to it, Paksitan Cricket Board (PCB) Director Media and Communications Samu Ul Hasan and cricketer Umar Gul were also awarded shields by the Navy Chief.
It is pertinent to know that Fakhar Zaman joined Pakistan Navy in 2007 and started his cricket career in 2012 while he was serving in PN. Due to his extraordinary cricket skills. PN then provided him opportunity to continue his professional career.
