Asim Saleem Bajwa – Chairman China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority has reiterated that CPEC is a national priority and no one can harm it.
Expressing his views at Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Asim Saleem Bajwa accentuated the significance of CPEC and its role for national development and growth.
Reiterating government’s commitment on CPEC and its related projects saying that it is a national project and no power can stop or harm it.
Furthermore, Asim Saleem Bajwa also apprised of progress of various development projects being carried out under CPEC and noted that work has been expedited on CPEC’s western route with construction underway for Balochistan’s road network, factories at Gwadar free zone and special economic zones (SEZs) in Faisalabad and Rashakai.
The western route also comprises of motorway from Islamabad to Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan), road linking Zhob, Quetta, Khuzdar, Awaran and Hoshab.
The work on these routes will be completed within next three years, he added.
CPEC Authority Chairman underscored that improved connectivity between various areas of the country will create new employment opportunities bringing prosperity via economic growth and development.
Other than energy projects and infrastructure projects, agriculture, SEZs, tourism, science, technology and IT are also a key aspect of CPEC.
