United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Kuwait have imposed new travel restrictions in wake of prevailing COVID-19 situation in Pakistan.
In a statement, UAE’s National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), has announced its decision to impose new travel restrictions against Pakistan in light of prevailing third COVID-19 wave in the country.
UAE has banned flights and entry of travelers from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka along with transit passengers as well.
The ban will come into effect from May 12th Wednesday this week.

However, flights between the four countries will continue to allow the transport of passengers fromthe UAE to Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka and the transfer of exempted groups from these countries to the UAE who have applied for exemption.
Furthermore, UAE citizens, official delegations, golden residence holders, diplomats and those travelling via business planes are exempted from the travel ban and will be subjected to 10-day quarantine and PCR testing.
Separately, Kuwait has also barred flights and travelers originating from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka from entering the country citing COVID-19 concerns.
People from the aforementioned countries can enter Kuwait if they were in another country for a minimum of 14 days prior to entering Kuwait.
