Sindh government has banned physical classes for students of grade 1 to 8 for a period of 15 days as part of new COVID-19 restrictions as the province has been gripped with third coronavirus wave.
Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani on Sunday, announced that on-campus classes for all private and government schools for students of grade one to eight have been suspended.
The suspension will come into effect from April 6th Tuesday (tomorrow) and will remain in place for a period of 15 days till April 21st.

“In the wake of ongoing third wave of COVID-19 pandemic and with the approval of competent authority, the classroom teaching and learning activities from clas ECE to VIII in all public and private institutions under the administrative control of School Education and Literacy Department Government of Sindh are hereby suspended with effect from 06th April 2021 to 21st April 2021, read the government notification.
Whereas, the home learning activities through inline classes and homework assignments to be given to the students through WhatsApp/emails or in person on weekly basis, added the notification.
It is to be noted that National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) is scheduled to meet on Tuesday April 6th (tomorrow) to decide on closure of educational institutions in wake of COVID-19 third wave.
Education and Health Ministers will meet at the NCOC Tuesday to decide whether to open or further close educational institutions. The exam situation will also be discussed. Whatever is decided will be a collective decision of the country’s health and education authorities & NCOC
