Punjab government on Wednesday, announced its decision to shut down medical and dental colleges along with suspension of MBBS exams in the province.
According to details, MBBS and BDS examinations have been postponed in Punjab amid increasing COVID-19 cases in the province.
“All the public and private medical colleges, dental colleges, nursing schools/colleges, paramedical/allied health sciences schools/colleges shall remain closed with effect from 26th November, 2020 24th December,2020. However, on-line classes shall be conducted for the students,” read the notification issued by Punjab Healthcare and Medical Education Department.
All medical exams will also remain suspended during this time period, whereas hostels have also been limited to operate at 1/3rd of their total capacity.
Meanwhile, medical and dental have also been directed to shutdown in accordance with the new recommendations and guidelines issued by NCOC to curb further virus spread.
The development comes as earlier, Federal Education Minister – Shafqat Mahmood had announced to close down educational institutions across the country to tackle coronavirus spread in the country.
