Punjab government has limited business timings allowing commercial activities till 6 pm as part of its new COVID-19 restrictions to curb virus spread in the province.
Under the new restrictions, all kinds of business and commercial activities are to remain suspended from 6 pm till sehri.
Meanwhile, all sports and cultural activities have also been banned, whereas inter-city public transport and trains have also been limited and will operate at 50% and 70% capacity respectively.
However, essential services will be exempted from the new restrictions. Fuel stations, pharmacies and vaccination centers will be allowed to operate after 6 pm.
The province will observe five working days from Monday to Friday, with Saturdays and Sundays being ‘closed days’, as per the notification issued by Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Government of Punjab.
Indoor wedding ceremonies have also been banned across the province. Areas subjected to outdoor ban on wedding ceremonies due to COVID-19 positivity ratio higher than 8%, include Bahawalpur, Bhakkar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Jhang, Kasur, Khanewal, Lahore, Multan, Mandi Bahaudin, Narowal, Okara, Rawalpindi, Rahim Yar Khan, Sialkot, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Sheikhupura and Vehari.
Outdoor and indoor dining at restaurants and eateries have also been banned with permission of only takeaway and home delivery options.
The new COVID-19 restrictions will remain in force till May 17th.
