The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) postponed its examinations scheduled to be held on November 21-22.
The decision has been made after several people tested positive for COVID-19 coronavirus at the examination centers.
Examinations are now to be re-scheduled and new dates will be announced later.
The development comes as earlier, Punjab government had imposed smart lockdown in several areas across the province.
The smart lockdown directives were enforced in Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Bhakkar to curb the virus spread.
Areas placed under smart lockdown in Lahore include Valencia Town, Paragon city, Johar Town, DHA, whereas in Multan Jalilabad, Gulgasht Colony, Garden Town, Khan Village Housing Society were subjected to smart lockdown measures.
Punjab has reported second highest COVID-19 tally with 112,893 cases so far.
