COVID-19 positivity rate has surpassed 25% mark in Karachi and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) on Tuesday (today).
As per the National Command and Operations Statistics (NCOC) statistics, Gilgit-Baltistan has reported highest COVID-19 positivity rate in the country with 28.9% followed by Karachi’s 25.1%.
Positivity rate in other cities has also witnessed significant increase with Muzaffarabad at 13.2%, Peshawar – 10%, Islamabad – 6.8%, Mirpur AJK – 5.7% and Diamir – 4%.
Meanwhile, Gilgit-Baltistan government has banned opening of all restaurants, public gatherings and visit to public parks during Eid-ul-Azha holidays in the wake of COVID-19.
All indoor and outdoor dining, public gathering, and functions under the new restrictions.
Pakistan reported 2,145 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s COVID-19 tally to 993,872.
The country’s death toll climbed to 22,848 after 37 more people succumbed to the deadly disease.
