Pakistan on Wednesday, reported 105 COVID-19 related deaths surpassing 9,000 mark.
According to details, Pakistan’s COVID-19 death toll has surpassed 9,000 mark with country’s death tally standing at 9,010 casualties with a mortality rate of 2.27 per cent.
As per the statistics provided by National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), Pakistan’s COVID-19 tally stands at 445,977 cases.
A total of 388,598 people have successfully recovered from the novel virus, whereas 2,510 are still in critical condition.
A total of 3,8028 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 2,731 came back positive.
Pakistan has witnessed a significant spike in COVID-19 cases and deaths in the past few weeks with 919 casualties since December 1st – an average of 61.22 deaths per day.
Previously death toll was recorded at 22.4 and 9.133 deaths per day in first halves of November and October respectively.
Meanwhile, country’s COVID-19 recovery rate is reported to have been highest in the world at 87 per cent with 45,312 people recovering from the virus in December alone.
Province wise distribution of COVID-19 tally is as follows;
- Sindh – 198,482 cases
- Punjab – 128,679 cases
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – 53,253 cases
- Islamabad – 35,203 cases
- Balochistan – 17,796 cases
- AJ&K – 7,771 cases
- Gilgit Baltistan – 4,799 cases
