Pakistan Cricket Team has been finally allowed to end their isolation and have been cleared for practice after their fifth COVID-19 tests results came back negative on Monday (today).
According to details, the 52-member Pakistan cricket team squad were tested for COVID-19 for the fifth time and have been allowed to leave isolation after their rest results came back negative.
The Pakistan squad’s fifth and final day 12, COVID-19 tests have all been returned as negative. As a consequence, and pending final Ministry of Health approval, the squad will leave managed isolation tomorrow, said official twitter handle of the New Zealand cricket team.
Pakistan cricket team has been cleared for practice and will now travel to Qeenstown for training for the upcoming T20 and test match series.
The development comes as earlier six members of the Pakistani squad including team officials had tested positive for the novel virus.
PCB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Wasim Khan had written to New Zealand Cricket Board regarding strict restrictions imposed on the Pakistan Cricket Team, urging the Kiwi authorities to allow the visitors to conduct practice, training sessions.
The two teams are scheduled to play three T20Is, starting 18 December, followed by two Tests which will form a part of the ICC World Test Championship.
