Punjab government has reopened Field Hospital at Lahore Expo Center for COVID-19 patients amid increasing cases.
As per the notification issued by provincial health department, Hall No 2 of the Expo Center Field Hospital has been reopened to cater to the exponential increase in COVID-19 patients.
The development will add additional 300 beds to the total provincial capacity to deal coronavirus patients, and will also include high dependency units as well.
The facility will cater patients with critical health conditions and who are facing severe breathing issues.
It is to be noted that Lahore’s Expo Center Field Hospital was first opened in April earlier this year at the beginning of prevailing COVID-19 pandemic. The facility was later shut down after coronavirus cases had dropped.
Pakistan’s COVID-19 tally stands at 413,191 cases with 8,303 deaths so far.
A total of 3,119 cases with 44 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, 352,529 people have successfully recovered from the novel virus whereas 2,441 are still in critical condition.
