Authorities in Karachi on Monday, banned indoor dining in restaurants amid increasing COVID-19 cases in the metropolis.
Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shalwani has announced a ban on indoor dining services in restaurants and eateries in Karachi to curb alarming coronavirus spread in the city.
The ban will be enforced from Tuesday November 24th tomorrow.
According to details, open-air restaurants will be exempted from the ban and will be allowed to continue their dining services.
Deputy Commissioners have been directed to ensure the strict implementation of new COVID-19 SOPs and directives.
The development comes as several areas in Karachi have been placed under 14-day micro lockdowns in response to increasing COVID-19 cases being reported from those neighborhoods.
Various localities in Karachi’s district East, West, Central, Sout, Korangi and Malir districts have been subjected to micro lockdown directives.
Karachi has remained one of the most affected cities in the country and has continuously reported highest number of daily COVID-19 cases.
