Colleges in Peshawar are to be closed under Higher Education Commission (HEC) orders due to significant spike in COVID-19 cases.
As per details, HEC has directed colleges in Peshawar to be closed from March 15th pertaining to the recent spike in coronavirus cases.
Colleges will be closed till March 28th, said the HEC.
However, management and teaching staff will continue to attend their respective institutions during this time period.
Meanwhile, educational institutions in other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been directed to limit students’ strength to 50 % in order to effectively implement COVID-19 SOPs.
The development comes as earlier, Punjab government had also banned co-curricular activities in educational institutes in Lahore Gujrat, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Sialkot, Rawalpindi and Faisalabad due to high COVID-19 positivity ratio.
