CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah has warned of unilateral action, two-week lockdown if NCOC and federal government doesn’t take necessary decisions to tackle third wave of COVID-19 coronavirus.
Expressing his views in Karachi, CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah has hinted that Sindh government might take unilateral action to tackle COVID-19 in the province if NCOC does not heeds to its suggestions such as suspension of inter-provincial transport to curb rising COVID-19 cases.
CM Murad Ali Shah had also suggested enforcing a two-week lockdown in Sindh during the NCOC meeting – a prospect negated by federal government.
Addressing the issue of COVID-19 vaccination, Murad Ali Shah underscored the fact that Pakistan has the lowest inoculation ratio in the entire world.
Chief Minister highlighted that 5,913 COVID-19 tests were carried out in the province during the past 24 hours of which 237 came back positive with 119 from Karachi alone.
Sindh has reported a total of 265,680 COVID-19 cases with 4,502 deaths so far. A total of 256,276 people have recovered from the novel virus in the province.
Currently, 5,028 COVID-19 patients are under treatment in Sindh with 253 being in critical condition.
