Islamabad: As new cases emerge, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan reaches an alarming 1,118.
Sindh has reported eight new cases in the country, seven in Karachi and one in Hyderabad, Islamabad – 5, Balochistan – 12 and Gilgil Baltistan has reported three new COVID-19 cases.
Sindh remains the epicentre of virus outbreak in Pakistan with a total 421 cases. Within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the number of cases in the province stands at 121, 131 in Balochistan, 84 in Gilgit Baltistan and 323 in Punjab; whereas in Azad Kashmir, one case has been reported so far.
Federation and all the provincial governments have tightened the measures to curb the outbreak of coronavirus in the country
The partial lockdown across the country has continued and security personnel are performing their duties for the safety of the people.
Deaths:
Pakistan has reported eight coronavirus related deaths so far, three in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh – 1, Balochistan – 1, Gilgit Baltistan – 1 and Punjab – 2.
Globally, 200 countries have been affected, more than 21,000 people have died and more than 47,000 infected by the disease as it spreads rapidly to new territories.
The epicentre of the outbreak has now shifted to Europe, especially Italy, which is recording a rapid rise in new cases and deaths every day.
