Around 55 smart lockdowns have been imposed in various areas of Lahore to
Punjab Primary and Secondary Health Department is said to have imposed 55 smart lockdowns across metropolitan city of Lahore.
As per details, Punjab government has imposed several smart lockdowns in areas identified as COVID-19 ‘hotspots’ in Lahore.
The notification issued by the provincial health department highlights that the continuous increase in COVID-19 positivity ratio in Punjab is an ‘imminent threat’ to public health.
Hence, smart lockdowns have been imposed in 55 localities with ‘controlled entry and exit’ in areas including Data Gunj Baksh Town, Shalimar Town, Samnabad Town, Aziz Bhatti Town and Allama Iqbal Town.
The smart lockdown directives will remain enforced till December 21st and markets, shopping malls, restaurants, public and private offices will remain closed in these areas.
The smart lockdown directives also include ban on all kinds of gatherings at public and private places.
However, grocery stores, fuel stations, fruit and vegetable shops will be allowed to operate from 9 am to 7 pm throughout the week.
Punjab COVId-19 tally stands at 124,191 cases of which Lahore alone accounts for almost half with 60,755 cases.
Provincial death toll stands at 3,218 with 1,282 deaths reported in Lahore alone.
