Court activities are to be resumed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) from today (Monday) after being suspended for more than two months due to COVID-19 threat.
Khawaja Wajeehuddin – Registrar Peshawar High Court (PHC) has issued a notification stating that administrative and judicial work of district and tribunal courts will be resumed from June 1 today.
The notification read, “The competent authority is pleased to direct all the courts/ tribunals throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa shall be fully functional with effect from June 1, 2020 for all sort of official business in the best interest of public interest with due observance of all SOPs issued by this court from time to time.”
It is to be noted that court and judicial process was suspended for around two months as the government had instructed courts to be closed down across the province after PHC employees had tested positive for the novel virus.
The decision comes as the federal and provincial government have been easing down the lockdown restrictions since the week before Eid Ul Fitr.
