Authorities have decided to seal six localities in Karachi’s District West due to increase COVID-19 cases in these neighborhoods.
In line with the government’s smart lockdown initiative, another six neighborhoods located in District West, Karachi will be sealed to curb the virus spread in these areas.
The areas that will be sealed constitute of a population up to 395,600 people and include neighborhoods of Gadap’s UC-5 Songal (Gulshan-e-Maymar Blocks X, Y and Z), Keamari’s UC-3 Keamari (Docks and Majeed Colony), Baldia UC-5 Saeedabad (Block 5G, 5J and A3), SITE UC-4 Metroville (Blocks 1,2,3,4 and 5), Orangi’s UC-11 Data Nagar (Area A/B) and Orangi’s UC-12 Mujahid Colony (Millatabad and Gullamabad Aligarh Colony).

Furthermore, the aforementioned areas will be sealed from July 3 (today) at 12 am midnight to July 17.
As per the standard lockdown directives, grocery and medical stores will be allowed to operate in these areas, whereas only one person per household will be permitted to go out for essentials.
The development comes as Sindh has reported the highest COVID-19 tally in the country with 89,225 coronavirus cases, 49,926 recoveries and 1,437 deaths so far.
