Sindh has reported more than 2,000 cases for the first time i.e. a record 2,487 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in the past 24 hours.
According to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, 9,100 tests were conducted during the last 24 hours, of which 2,487 came back positive, taking the provincial total to 43,790.
The province also reported its highest single-day death toll at 42, taking the total fatalities to 738.
The chief minister added that 493 patients are in critical condition while 77 are on ventilators.
The national tally of coronavirus cases stands at 113,702 cases as a record 5,385 new cases were reported in a single day.
