Karachi: In the wake of of coronavirus pandemic, Sindh food authority has issued instructions for eateries and restaurants in the province.
Sindh food authority’s scientific panel has advised to ensure the use of masks and other hygienic preventive measures to curb the virus outbreak. All employees are to be screened on a daily basis for possible coronavirus symptoms such as dry cough, difficulty in breathing and fever.
Restaurant administrations have been instructed to be vigilant and screen body temperature of their employees and staff. Utensils, food storage points, door handles and other key and frequently used places and objects must be cleaned after each successive use.
Earlier, CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah had hinted on the possibility of limiting the operational hours of markets and eateries to 9pm, as a preventive measure to contain coronavirus spread.
Authorities have already banned large public gatherings, shrines and wedding halls have been directed to a temporary closure.
Sindh has been at the forefront of Pakistan’s effort to contain the coronavirus outbreak and has reported the highest number of 155 confirmed cases.
