Director International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICBBS) Dr Iqbal Choudhary has said that coronavirus pandemic holds many lessons for humanity and suggests that mankind must stop interfering with nature.
Speaking to Voice of Sindh, he stressed that epidemics have been associated with human life for the past 17,000 years.
“I fear that coronavirus may continue to thrive as a fatal infection even after a vaccine has been discovered. It is necessary that nature is left alone to take its course without human interference,” Dr Choudhary said.
He added that the health sector will not remain a state issue for any country but it will become q global concern after this pandemic situation. “Now if an epidemic breaks out in a small town of Pakistan the entire world will consider undertaking research about it.”
He expressed his satisfaction with the plasma therapy treatment method and said that so far it has proved effective.
Director ICCBS informed the Voice of Sindh team about the ongoing research projects of his institute and thanked Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah for his patronage and support in establishing the largest COVID-19 emergency sampling unit under ICCBS.
ICCBS is an affiliate of the HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry which is a premium research establishment of chemistry and molecular sciences located on the premises of the University of Karachi.
