Authorities have announced to open parks, hiking trails for public as part of easing the lockdown measures in the federal capital.
According to the notification citizens will only be allowed to benefit from these relaxations in lockdown restrictions as long as they strictly abide by the recommended SOPs.
“In pursuance to the notifications/orders issued in connection with novel COVID19 pandemic, it has been decided that Parks and Trails are being opened for general public with immediate effect. However, the sports ground will remain closed. The said permission is subject to adherence to the SOPs issue by this office from time to time including the social distancing guidelines only of exercise, walk,” read the notification issued by District Magistrate Islamabad.
The notification also highlighted the responsibility of the Environment Directorate, Metropolitan Corporation, Islamabad, to ensure the implementation of social distancing measures and guidelines as advised by medical experts.
A total of 261 confirmed coronavirus cases have been reported in Islamabad, with 36 recoveries and four deaths so far.
