Islamabad: Federal government has decided to reach out and develop a consensus among political parties amid coronavirus outbreak in the country.
As per the details, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has been tasked to contact all the political parties and brief them over government’s steps regarding coronavirus prevention.
In a telephone call with PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto, Asad Qaiser appreciated the former’s statement regarding abstaining from political point scoring.
Bilawal Bhutto has responded positively to Speaker’s proposal to form a joint parliamentary committee over COVID-19 outbreak.
The parliamentary committee will include members from both the treasury and opposition benches who will formulate a unified and coordinated policy to tackle coronavirus outbreak in the country.
Earlier, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto stated that everyone should abstain from political point scoring and refused to criticize federal government on its response to COVID-19 outbreak. He further highlighted the significance of a nationalized coordinated effort to contain the coronavirus spread in the country.
