Lahore: Dr Yasmin Rashid, provincial health minister has announced that the number of coronavirus cases in the province have increased to six.
In a press conference, Ms. Yasmin Rashid along with Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan and other provincial ministers provided updates regarding the spread of coronavirus in country’s largest province.
National Health Service (NHS) has confirmed the first casualty of novel virus. A suspected patient of COVID-19 was brought to Mayo hospital Lahore on March 17 who then passed away in Intensive care unit awaiting his test results
The patient had previously traveled to Iran and had cleared screening tests.
In addition to it, a video has surfaced showing the dead body being handled by hospital staff wearing hazard suits.
However, despite the confirmation by NHS about first casualty of COVID-19 coronavirus, Punjab government has not yet confirmed any coronavirus related deaths and have denied such reports.
The number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Pakistan has now risen to 193 after Sindh and Punjab have reported new cases.
