Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has appealed Christian community in the province to avoid church gatherings and resort to offering prayers at home amid COVID-19 outbreak.
On Wednesday, relief rehabilitation and settlement department issued a notification directing the Christian community to abstain from church congregations. The government has further advised that Christians should offer their prayers at home and church gatherings should be limited to only five people.
Earlier on April 7, Sikh community announced to close down its Gurdwaras in Swat district in accordance with the ban on public gatherings that has been imposed by the provincial government as part of the province-wide lockdown amid coronavirus outbreak.
According to the Chief Minister Secretariat, people can register their COVID-19 related complaints and queries at UAN 091-111-712-713, telephone number 091-9222561-3, fax number 091-9210707 and WhatsApp number 0347-666849.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported a total of 560 COVID-10 cases, 20 people have died due to novel virus in the province so far.
