With the confirmation of 86 new cases, the tally of coronavirus confirmed cases in Punjab has jumped 2000, increasing the national tally to 4009.
Until March 15, less than ten cases were reported every day but since March 22, more than hundred new cases surface on daily basis.
On April 4 alone, around 266 new cases of COVID-19 were reported – making the graph steeper.
There were a total of 16 confirmed cases on March 10 that increased to 187 cases by March 17, 2036 by April 1, 2754 cases by April 4 and now 4009 by April 8.
Latest reports suggest that some 2754 to 2800 citizens of Pakistan contracted virus from March 8 to April 6, among which, Punjab has reported the highest number of cases i.e. 2004, followed by Sindh with 986, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 500, 211 in Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan’s tally at 206, Islamabad with 83 and Azad Jammu Kashmir has reported 19 cases so far.
While total 56 deaths have been reported across Pakistan.
Moreover, worldwide, there was an increment of 40,901 cases on Tuesday, with the death count raised to 79071.
According to the reports, 1036 new deaths has been reported in the US, 604 in Italy, 556 in Spain, 95 in Germany, 786 in Britain, 133 in Iran, 403 in Belgium and 22 in Canada. Although the patients have been increasing excessively in the US, the death rate of the state is lesser than of Italy, Spain, and France.
36 people have died in 1 million of the population in the USA while the death rate is 283, 297 and 137 in one million of population in latter countries.
It is observed that the highly affected countries i.e. Italy and Spain have the highest rate of recovery as the countries have 24,392 and 43,208 patients recovered respectively.
Unlike developed countries, small states or sates that are separated from major parts of the world are less affected. Timor-Leste and Papua New Guinea have one and two cases virus only whereas Vatican City has 7, Nepal 9, Zimbabwe, and Syria, Libya and Maldives reported 19 cases on Tuesday.
Worlidwide tally has jumped from 1,297, 078 to 1,386,905.
