Punjab government, on Wednesday, reopened 61 areas of Lahore which were previously sealed-off due to increased coronavirus cases.
As per the details, the de-sealed areas include Johar Town, Canal View Society, Wapda Town, PCSIR, DHA (phase I,III,V), Askari X, Old Anarkali, Kareem Park, Shadbagh (Gol Bagh), Mohalla Shah Noor, Darogawala and others.
Meanwhile, smart lockdown directives have been extended for three days in seven areas.
Muhammad Usman – Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Care has stated that educational institutions, wedding halls, restaurants, parks and cinema halls will remain closed, whereas other businesses, including grocery stores will be allowed to operate rom Monday till Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
In addition to it, essential shops and services such as Medical stores, puncture shops, flour mill, tandoor ovens, agricultural workshops have been given permission to operate round the clock, seven days a week.

Furthermore, inter-city public transport has also been permitted to operate round the clock, whereas Churches are allowed to open on Sundays only between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
It is pertinent to know that Lahore has been the epicenter of COVID-19 outbreak in Punjab, reporting around half of the total cases in the province. City officials have sealed several neighborhoods of the provincial capital to curb the virus spread.
