Sindh government has decided to impose a complete lockdown across the province till 3 pm on Friday
As per the notification issued by the Sindh home department, all commercial activities will be prohibited till 3 pm on Friday in a bid to contain the coronavirus outbreak in the province.
Furthermore, Sindh government’s lockdown directives will extend to the weekend as well, from Friday, May 15 to Sunday May 17.
According to Minister for Information, Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, “From noon on Friday all sorts of businesses, including milk and vegetable shops and pharmacies, will remain shut.”
The complete lockdown will remain in effect till 3 pm, he added.
Prior to this, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on May 10, had announced relaxation in province-wide lockdown allowing essential services such as grocery stores, milk shops and pharmacies.
Police and local authorities have placed tankers and sealed off various roads and routes in various areas of Karachi to discourage public movement and implement government’s lockdown instructions.
Sindh has reported a total of 14,099 confirmed coronavirus cases, with 3,073 recoveries and 243 deaths.
