Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa met with Dr Christian Turner – British High Commissioner to Pakistan and mulled over regional peace, security situation and bilateral relations, cooperation between the two countries.
According to ISPR, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa highlighted that Pakistan values Britain’s balanced role in global and regional affairs and looks forward to optimize the strategic potential of Pak-UK relationship based on convergences.
Meanwhile, the British envoy acknowledged Pakistan’s “continuous efforts for peace and stability in the region and reaffirmed UK’s commitment to further enhance bilateral relations.
The two also exchanged views over matters of mutual interest, the regional security situation including the recent developments in the Afghan peace process and collaboration in the fight against COVID-19.
