Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa presided over Corps Commanders Conference (CCC) at General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi reported ISPR on Tuesday, today.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Army Chief General Bajwa chaired CCC at GHQ. During the meeting the participants mulled over domestic and regional security matters with special preference to country’s internal security.
The forum positively noted increasing realization at international forums about worsening humanitarian and security crisis in IIOJ&K and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support to resilient Kashmiri people for their just struggle or right to self-determination in accordance with the UNSC resolutions, said ISPR.
Afghan Peace Process was also discussed during the meeting as the CCC participants expressed hope for peaceful and stable Afghanistan for regional peace and stability.
Commanders noted that the enormity of the security challenges warrants a holistic national response, keeping national interest above everything else. Participants underscored the need to ensure continuous operational preparedness to thwart any possible misadventure from adversary, ISPR added.
In addition to it, security situation in FATA was also reviewed during the CCC as the participants concluded early implementation of reforms is required in newly merged tribal districts aimed at enabling LEAs’ apparatus to achieve sustainable peace in the area.
The high-level meeting expressed satisfaction over countering hostile intelligence agencies’ design 2 disrupt peace and progress particularly in Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan which lay exposed to entire worlds thus vindicating Pak stance on role of hostile agencies in training and funding of terrorists.
Dividends of improved security situation including return of international cricket in the country is a result of numerous sacrifices rendered & challenges overcome to eliminate extremism and terrorism from Pakistan. We will stay the course InshaAllah, said the Army Chief.
