Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa met top NATO officials to discuss Afghan Peace Process and mutual cooperation at GHQ, Rawalpindi on Thursday (today).
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the delegation included Commander Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan – General Austin Scott Miller and Zalmay Khalilzad – US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation.
The meeting discussed Afghan Peace Process and future steps to enhance and further strengthen security cooperation between US, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Mohammad Sadiq -Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan.
“Peace and stability in the region, Pak-Afghan Border management and current developments in Afghan Peace Process were discussed during the meeting,” read the statement issued by ISPR.
Furthermore, the delegation appreciated Pakistan’s progressive role in facilitating Afghan Peace Process and Intra-Afghan dialogue between Kabul and Afghan Taliban.
