Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on his one-day visit to Turkey, met with senior Turkish leadership and appreciated host country’s role and contribution for regional peace and stability.
According to ISPR, COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa met with General Hulusi Akar (Retired) – Turkey’s Minister of National Defence and praised host country’s role for peace and stability in the region.
The meeting was also attended by General Yasar Guler – Commander Turkish General Staff and General Umit Dundar – Commander of the Turkish Land Forces.
The meeting mulled over matters of mutual interests, regional security situation including recent developments in Afghan Peace Process and bilateral defence and security cooperation in various fields.
Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa reiterated that Turkey is one of the key Muslim countries in the region and that enhanced Pakistan-Turkey cooperation will have positive impact on regional peace and stability.
The Turkish side praised Pakistan’s positive role for regional peace and stability, especially the Afghan peace process and pledged to continue working for better relations between two brotherly countries.
