Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa landed in Saudi Arabia on his official visit to the kingdom on Tuesday (today).
As per details, during his visit, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa will hold meetings with senior Saudi civilian and military leadership and will mull over bilateral relations and security cooperation between the two countries.
Earlier, COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa met with Mr. Nong Rong – Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan at GHQ Rawalpindi on Monday a day earlier.
According to ISPR, during the meetings the two mulled over matters of mutual interest, recent developments in Afghan peace process, progress on CPEC, regional security and current situation of COVID-19.
The visiting dignitary lauded Pakistan’s sincere efforts for peace and stability in the region, especially Afghan Peace Process.
Meanwhile, Army Chief expressed gratitude to Chinese Ambassador the dignitary for China’s contribution towards fight against COVID-19 in Pakistan and said that Pakistan Army greatly values its friendly relations with China.
COAS’s visit comes as Prime Minister Imran Khan is also expected to visit Saudi Arabia on 8th May later this week.
According to Fawad Chaudhry – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, PM Imran Khan will also perform Umrah during his stay in the kingdom.
