Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday (today) met with Iraqi Defence Minister Jummah Enaad Saadoon Khatab Al Jibori and mulled over bilateral relations and security cooperation between the two countries.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Iraqi Defence Minister Jummah Enaad Saadoon Khatab Al Jibori called upon Army Chief General Bajwa at General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi.
During the meeting matters pertaining to regional security issues were discussed. Both sides agreed to further enhance defence and security cooperation between Pakistan and Iraq.
COAS recognized the unmatched sacrifice made by the people of Iraq in the war against terror throughout the years.
Furthermore, Army Chief offered Pakistan’s assistance to Iraq in defence, security domain.
Both dignitaries reiterated their commitment towards working together for regional peace and security.
