Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa met with Rear Admiral Subhan Bakirov – Commander of Azerbaijan Naval Forces at GHQ Rawalpindi, reported ISPR on Tuesday a day earlier.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the two dignitaries mulled over matters of mutual interest including defence, training, security cooperation between both countries, overall regional security situation and agreed to strengthen military cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, the army chief reiterated that Pakistan values its brotherly relations with Azerbaijan and offered all possible assistance and cooperation in development and defence related fields to Azerbaijan.
Meanwhile, the visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s support to Azerbaijan and its sincere efforts for bringing peace and stability in the region, especially the Afghan Peace Process.
Prior to this, Rear Admiral Subhan Bakirov – Commander of Azerbaijan Naval Forces had met with Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) of Pakistan Navy Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi at Naval Headquarters.
The Azeri Navy Chief is on an official visit to Pakistan during which he is scheduled to visit Karachi and Lahore to have interaction with Field Commanders of Pakistan Navy and visit Pakistan Navy Training institutes.
