Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday, met with Afghan Ambassador and discussed bilateral ties and cooperation between the two countries.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Army Chief met with Mr Najibullah Alikhil – Afghanistan Ambassador to Pakistan and mulled over security cooperation between the two countries.
COAS welcomed the Ambassador to Pakistan and expressed hope that his services will help optimize Pak – Afghan bilateral relations, said ISPR.
Furthermore, matters of mutual interest including regional security situation, ongoing Afghan Peace Process, border management and defense and security cooperation were discussed.
Both dignitaries underscored the exceptional brotherly relations between both countries and pledged to further improve the same.
Prior to this, Army Chief had met with Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan.
The two discussed security situation along Line of Control (LOC) meanwhile General Bajwa reiterated Pakistan Army’s utmost support and commitment to Kashmir cause and the people of Kashmir.
