Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has directed troops to assist fellow countrymen in every corner of the country and reiterated military’s commitment for the protection and assistance of all Pakistanis amid coronavirus crisis.
According to the statement issue by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa attended a special briefing at National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan on the issue of virus outbreak in the country, where he reiterated Armed Forces’ commitment in assisting civil administration in its effort to tackle coronavirus outbreak in the country.
Army Chief has directed army troops to reach out to citizens and assist them in any way necessary amid this unprecedented situation.
“We must Rise – and rise together irrespective of caste, colour, creed and religion fighting as One Nation. The task at hand is daunting, but we have overcome difficult situations before. This time the challenge is entirely different. Armed Forces will stand shoulder to shoulder with nation to guard the border between people and COVID-19,” General Bajwa said.
COAS highlighted the significance of a synchronized united national effort to successfully curb the virus spread and called upon the nation to “rise together”, put aside differences of “caste, colour, creed, and religion” and fight as one nation.
The NCOC is serving as a common platform to monitor and articulate the national effort to contain the coronavirus outbreak by coordinating and streamlining the efforts of various national institution in this regard.
