Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the Field Firing Ranges near Jehlum, Punjab today to witness a demonstration of the Chinese made state of the art VT-4 Main Battle Tank (MBT).
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement regarding the visit said that the COAS expressed great satisfaction on the demonstration praised Chinese engineering, the VT-4 MBT has been inducted into inventory of Armoured Corps after the recent induction of indigenously produced Al-Khalid-1 Tank.
General Bajwa said that the capable machine will be tested in war-like situations after its induction into the infantry of the Pakistan Army and will be awarded an offensive role in strike formations.
he VT-4 is compatible with any modern tank in the world integrating advanced armour protection, maneuverability, great firepower capabilities and state of the art technology.
While interacting with the officers and men, COAS Bajwa said that Pakistan Army is cognizant of emerging challenges and regional threats, ISPR reported.
“We are completely focused towards internal and external challenges to defence of the country and prepared with matching response against all threats to sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of Pakistan.”
COAS lauded troops for professionalism, operational readiness, and highest training standards to meet the challenges of modern-day battlefield requirements.
