Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar has revealed that hostile, anti-Pakistan intelligence agencies are responsible for Lahore’s Johar Town blast.
Addressing a press-briefing in Lahore, CM Usman Buzdar apprised that an anti-Pakistan intelligence agency is behind the Johar Town incident.
Terrorists responsible for Johar Town bomb blast have been arrested, said CM Usman Buzdar.
The chief minister praised Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) for tracing the suspects and apprehending those responsible behind the heinous attack in such short time.
Accompanied by IG Punjab Inam Ghani, provincial law minister Basharat Raja and Special Assistant on Information, CM Usman Buzdar highlighted that after a thorough investigation and sufficient evidence obtained, the authorities had concluded that an ‘anti-state’ agency is directly involved in the terrorist incident and which also provided financial assistance to the terrorists.
Meanwhile expressing his views IG Punjab Inam Ghani said that ten Pakistani nationals including women have been arrested so far in connection with the Johar Town blast incident.
A joint investigation team (JIT) has already been formed and information regarding the members of anti-national agencies behind the attack has been shared with Pakistan’s own intelligence services, said IG Punjab.
Everyone knows who these hostile agencies and hostile countries are, he added.
IG Inam Ghani also apprised that the vehicle used in the explosion had been stolen in 2010 but had been recovered by police in 2011.
Johar Town Blast Case – Progress So Far
Earlier in the day, security agencies arrested another key suspect from Rawalpindi who allegedly parked the explosive-laden vehicle in Lahore’s Johar Town last week.
During investigation Eid Gul has revealed that he was living with his family in Jhang from Waziristan and spent a lot of time in Rawalpindi with his brothers for work and had come in contact Peter Paul David a few years back.
Last week, security agencies apprehended a mechanic suspected of being a facilitator in the terrorist attack and who purportedly ‘prepared’ the explosive-laden vehicle used in the incident.
A woman named Kiran was also taken in custody from Lahore upon the information given by Peter Paul David, another suspect who is the owner of the car used in the terrorist attack. another meanwhile, another suspected terrorist Sajjad Hussain was arrested from Mandi Bahauddin last week. The suspect has reportedly admitted to facilitating in shifting the black sedan used in the terrorist attack.
A case has been registered in CTD Lahore police station on the complaint of SHO Abid Baig. The FIR included 7ATA, 3/4 Explosives Act, 302, 324, 148/149 and other serious provisions.
