Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Aijaz Ali Shah Sheerazi – advisor to Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, succumbed to COVID-19 on Thursday (today).
Aijaz Ali Shah was being treated at Agha Khan University Hospital in Karachi and passed away due to novel coronavirus.
Sheerazi began his political career back in 1984 and was elected as Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) in Sindh Assembly in 1985.
He was a five-time elected member of Sindh Assembly and had served as provincial minister and advisor on multiple occasions.
His son Ayaz Shah Sheerazi and, Riaz Shah Sheerazi, are MNA and MPA respectively.
His nephew Shah Hussain Shah Sheerazi is also an MPA.
Sindh has reported 189,687 COVID-19 cases with 3,099 deaths so far.
A total of 163,492 people have recovered from the novel virus in Sindh.
