National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) has eased prevailing COVID-19 restrictions across the country allowing indoor dining and reopening of cinemas in wake of significant fall in COVID-19 cases and positivity rate.
As per the eased COVID-19 restrictions, cinemas across Pakistan will reopen from Thursday July 1st this week.
Only vaccinated people will be allowed in cinemas which will be allowed to operate till 1 am. Cinemas staff will have to be vaccinated against COVID-19 whereas the management will be obliged to institute a mechanism for checking the vaccination certificates of visitors as well.
As per the new COVID-19 restrictions;
- Indoor dining to reopen on July 1 with 50% capacity
- Markets allowed to stay open till 10pm
- Shrines, gyms to reopen
- 400 vaccinated guests allowed in outdoor weddings
- 200 vaccinated guests allowed in indoor weddings
- Public transport to operate at 70% capacity
- Vaccination certificate declared mandatory for indoor dining
Furthermore, NCOC has also allowed continuation of normal working hours for public and private offices with 100% attendance.
There will be one closed day during the week and the selection of that day will be at the discretion of federating units, said the NCOC.

The country reported 23 COVID-19 casualties in the past 24 hours.
Pakistan’s total COVID-19 tally stands at 956,392 cases with 22,254 deaths so far. A total of 901,985 people have successfully recovered from the novel virus, whereas 1,946 are still in critical condition.
