Chinese PPEs shipment received at Lahore Airport
China sent another shipment of personal protection equipment worth Rs100 million which was received at the Lahore airport on Monday by Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar.
The shipment reached Lahore via special PIA flight. The material has been donated by Chinese provinces Shandong, Jiangsu and Ningxia to help fight the coronavirus pandemic in Punjab.
CM Punjab, speaking on the occasion, said the donation shows strong Pakistan-China brotherly relations, adding that China has always helped Pakistan in every hour of trial. Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid, Chief Secretary, ACS (Urbanization) and health secretaries were also present on this occasion.
“We are thankful to the Chinese government for sending PPEs as Pakistan-China friendship is intertwined through the bond of immortal relations,” he said.
The PPE material delivered from China includes protective suits, N-95 and surgical masks, gloves and disposable medical protectors for medical professionals and janitorial staff engaged in the battle against coronavirus.
Buzdar told that eight BSL-III labs are functioning in Punjab. Besides that, notification for home isolation has been issued or coronavirus patients with minor symptoms. He also said that SOPs are formulated under the guidance of WHO and their implementation is being ensured by the province.
Chinese consul General Long Dingbing said that Pakistan is a trustworthy friend of China adding that helping the Pakistani brethren in an hour of trial is their duty.
