China has opposed unilateral move by India in Kashmir to change the status quo of the disputed region.
Wang Wenbin – spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, stated that China opposed any unilateral move in Kashmir to change the political, geographical status quo of disputed region of Jammu and Kashmir.
Responding to a question regarding the first anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 of the Indian constitution and revocation of valley’s special autonomous status, Mr Wang Wenbin said, “Any unilateral change to the status quo in the Kashmir region is illegal and invalid,”
“The Kashmir region issue should be properly and peacefully resolved through dialogue and consultation between the parties concerned,” he added.

Furthermore, China has highlighted the fact that ‘Pakistan and India are neighbors and that harmony between the two countries serves the fundamental interests of both sides’.
Both countries must address their differences through dialogue, improve relations and jointly safeguard peace, stability and development of the two countries and the region, said the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
