Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued new guidelines for international travelers amid COVID-19 pandemic.
As per details, the regulatory authority has issued a list of new COVID-19 SOPs and guidelines for inbound international passengers in accordance to the country their taking off from.
A total of 23 countries are included in Category A and passengers coming to Pakistan from these countries will be exempted from compulsory COVID-19 tests.
Category A countries include; Australia, China, Cote D’Ivoire, Cuba, Fiji, Iceland, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Laos, Maldives, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Rwanda, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Singapore, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Togo, Uruguay, Vietnam and Zambia.
Meanwhile, passengers coming from countries of Category B will be required to get themselves screened for coronavirus at least 96 hours prior to the flight.
The passengers will have to submit their negative PCR test in order to obtain boarding passes. These new COVID-19 restrictions will remain in effect till March 31st.
Furthermore, aircrafts are to be consistently disinfected, whereas cabin crew will be obligate to wear face masks at all times.
In addition to it, passengers will only be allowed to be occupy/utilize seats allocated to them. Aircrafts’ washrooms will also be subjected to disinfection at 1 hour intervals.
